Thankful Lady

Ummm, so yeah, it's been over 2 weeks since my last post! But there really hasn't been much going on to post about, plus work has been insanely busy.

So even though Thanksgiving was yesterday, I'm thankful for lots of things every day. Here are just a few...

First off, my family. They are so much fun to be around and I'm so thankful that we all live so close and get to see each other whenever we want. We're all a tad on the crazy side (just ask Bryan and my sister's boyfriend...the outsiders :)) but it makes for great fun and great stories.

Of course, Bryan. He is my rock and the absolute best partner I could ask for. He puts up with so much from me and deals with my craziness better than anyone else could.

My friends. I have an absolutely terrific group of friends. We have so much fun together. My best friend Emma (who yelled at me for not posting in forever. Hi Emma!) is the bestest best friend ever. As a side note, I'm also thankful for Advil for helping me out the mornings after all those "fun times", like our annual tradition of going out the night before Thanksgiving! (Man, Thursday morning was r-o-u-g-h!)

My Libby dog. She can be a brat at times, but when she's snuggled up on the couch with us at the end of the day, all that naughtiness is forgiven.

Our jobs. In these times of economic uncertainty, I am immensely thankful that Bryan and I both have very secure jobs.

The roof over my head. Of course, that roof and everything under it have flaws, but to be a homeowner at my age is truly a blessing and I love having a warm, comfortable place to call home.

Last, but certainly not least, I am thankful for my health and the health of all my family members and friends. I really hope I am thankful for this same thing for a long time!

I am thankful for lots of other little things...cars that run, a car that is paid off, Alterra coffee, Diet Coke, chocolate and plenty of other "stuff."

Here's hoping that I'm thankful for all of these things for a long time to come!

Happy Birthday to My Love!

That incredibly handsome husband of mine turns 27 today!

We'll be hitting up a newish restaurant in Bay View called Cafe Centraal. It's beer heaven for Bryan the Beer Snob!

Awesomeness

Just wanted to let you all know how much I love Kohl's. I went there last night because I had a 30% off mailer thing. Well pretty much the entire store was 50% off! I got a pair of knee high black boots, 7 shirts, some socks, and boxers for Bryan (couldn't leave him out) for $86! When I got home I totaled all the "regular" prices and they added up to $240! That is an insane deal. I don't know if the 50% off sale is still going on today, but I still have my 30% off coupon, so I just might head back there after work :0)

Hide!

It's the devil car! Bryan just emailed this picture from his phone (explains the blurriness). The Civic was a devil car for one whole mile!! Mwahahahahaha.

Omaha, Somewhere in Middle America....

Ahh, yes, the Counting Crows. America's band of the 90s. Or something.

Aaanyway, Bryan and I, along with a few friends, are heading to Nebraska this weekend for the wedding of their high school friend Isaac to his beautiful bride Tessa. Normally, this is where a loving, romantic picture of Isaac and Tessa would be inserted, but I have no such picture because I've only met them once...at my wedding.

Now normally I wouldn't be all that excited about going to Nebraska....

But, Isaac and Tessa are getting hitched here....

It's a castle people!!!! How awesome is that? I think it's pretty damn awesome. Joslyn Castle is absolutely gorgeous--I just spent some time at the website and I'm even more excited now! We're hoping there will be haunted happenings while we're there. Don't really have any reason to expect any, we're just kind of assuming a large castle will have ghosts!
It'll be a short trip though. Bryan aka The Research King, decided it would be most cost effective to fly. We'll be leaving Milwaukee at 9:05 Saturday morning and returning early Sunday afternoon. So it will be a quick jaunt, but I love weddings (even when I barely know the couple) so it'll be worth it! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to entertain you all with when I return!

A New Era

This is the third presidential election I've voted in, and the first time I felt my vote was truly counted. There is not much more I can say that hasn't already been said. Obama has a very tough time ahead of him, but I strongly believe he is the candidate most able to take on the challenge.

I would like to say that while I don't agree with John McCain's politics, I think he is a great man. His concession speech last night was genuine and compassionate. Every time an audience has booed Obama (and they did that often) McCain has asked for respect from his constituents.

I truly hope this country can stand behind its next President, because, while a cliche, it is true when they say "United we stand, divided we fall."
